| To Honor my friend Randy on his birthday..... I decided I would open up my Trillian history function and cut and paste some small snippets of conversation into my post. Mind you, this history is FAR too long to really go through all the way, so I just picked a few of the snippets that are actually readable, LOL. Most of our conversations were too lewd or implicated too many people to post, LOL. So here you have it.....for your reading pleasure! Love ya Randy! | Life was great. The past few weeks I've been studying quite a bit for my CPA exam that is on Thursday, August 30. I was studying, working out, I even started attending a bible study that Zak is going to start holding. This past week I've felt great. On Thursday my company participated in a United Way Accounting Division Challenge and I helped my firm win the Trivia Contest. I was on the team with a Partner (he was impressed!). So on Thursday night I get home and study a whole bunch. Just before bed I have a little stomach ache. Nothing major, just some food didn't sit right or something. Friday morning......I wake up at 4:00am feeling like death. I'm having cold sweats, I'm dizzy (like the room was spinning), my head is killing me, you know, all the good stuff. So I throw up, I feel a little better, and I go back to bed. 7am Friday morning I get up for work and realize that I can't really move. Like it took me a good 10 minutes to walk to the kitchen. I finally get around and make it to work. My seniors walk in and see me sitting at my desk with my head down and doing some heavy breathing, lol. Seriously, I got to work and didn't have the energy to get my computer out of my backpack. To sum it up, they send me home. I sleep, vomit, poop, vomit, sleep, eat, vomit all day long. Which brings me to 3:30am on Saturday morning when I wake up feeling like death, but I physically can't sleep anymore. Now, I'm trying to decide what to do about CPA exam. It is too late to reschedule. If the illness continues I will have no energy to study. At the moment, I'm huffing from the amount of energy it took to write this. | | |
| So yeah, I'm feeling a little better about the whole last post. I just felt like I had to get it out. And thanks for my two "out-of-towner" perspective comments. I hope after my next exam to get back to Stillwater to hang out. Unfortunately, I have my next exam on August 30. Not so much fun studying all the time, but I know that once I get it done I'll be free! In other news, my parents and I went car shopping for like 7 hours this past Saturday. I found plenty that I wanted. They were all a little out of my price range, but I totally could have afforded them; however, I made no decisions. I basically talked myself out of them. "Why," you ask? I'm not sure why. I just feel like I should rock out Kiki until she's had her day. I mean, she's obviously had a good 6.5 with me so far, but for some reason I can't think of getting rid of her until I absolutely have to. Aargh! It is soooo nerve-racking. Perhaps I'll get a new car at Christmas time, hmmm. Or perhaps I will make it my CPA present to myself. NOTE: (if I wait until CPA exam I will definitely be getting a NICE car that will be DA BOMB....hmm, but then again, would Kiki make it another 7 or 8 months? I'M GOING TO CHICAGO IN 4 WEEKS! My work will be in Sears Tower! How fun!?! | | |
| The day that you leave Stillwater you are somehow changed as a person. I cannot explain it or even guess at why it happens. You will have become different somehow. You will not feel different, I can assure you this. But you will be perceived as different by people you went to college with. This will not be a pleasant feeling. The only way you can hope to rise above, is to adapt to your current situation. Make friends where you had none, and live your life to the fullest even if it doesn't include all of the things you thought were so vital to happiness in college. Inevitably, you will have those days where you read about what is going on in your friend's lives and you will feel a little piece of yourself ache. You will know that you weren't there to experience it with them. Further, you will wonder if you will ever get the chance to be the same around them. They will have changed, as most people in college do, and you will have changed. Perhaps there is still hope that one day it will not be so. Until then, I will continue to be the person I always was, except for in a new city. I am finding out things about myself that I did not see previously. For instance, I am not now, nor was I ever, as mean as people made me out to be. I loved the things I was a part of and the individuals with whom I shared my experiences. I feel like I gave much, and took very little. I am realizing that I am comfortable being who I was and who I've become. I have been really happy living in Tulsa thus far. I have had more crazy experiences than I could even begin to list. Some days have been a challenge and others have been a blessing. Regardless, I feel like I'm actually living life and touching other's lives in the process. | | |
| A little bit of an update.... Life has been crazy busy for me lately. I'll give you some highlights: Went to Dallas for work...Bobo and I had a blast. I got to see her "play" softball, LOL. We also drank a lot. I do believe at one point we dared each other to drink straight Crown and Chivas. We succeeded! Umm, let's see....we took crazy pictures with this unfortunate lady at Logans. We caught her doing a "tripod." It was good times. Oh, and we saw Carrie Underwood in Dallas, good stuff! I passed BEC for the CPA exam. Yay! Only 3 more sections left and I'm free of the Opression of Studying. Umm, I get to go to Dallas again in August and to Chicago in early September for work. Work is really busy at the moment so that's sort of keeping my plate full. I've seen several people in Tulsa, including: Jake, Keli, Ayla, Rance, Autumn, Wade, and Caly. I've had fun with them all. Oh, and I got to see Ayla and Wade in OKC at the club before Ayla left for NYC, that was cool. I just got back from Evan and Alecha's wedding. They were on my Homecoming Exec team and they were too cute. I saw Miriam and Ashley Leedy too, so that was awesome. Unfortunately, I will miss Leedy's wedding, but it's because I'll be in Tennessee for Mike's wedding, so I should have fun there too. Anyway, bye bye | | |
